Bond...I think is time to leave this project at this point, :) it was really fun to do, I modeled and texturized the head on zbrush, and everything else, done in Lightwave, after that I took it to Photoshop for the hair, my intention was originally do the hair with fiber fx but my file got corrupted after days of work, so i decided to finish it in photoshop, and some grading and defocus on nuke, hope you like it :)

BIG NEWS (for me anyway)Hi! I want to shout to the world, I'm pregnant! Okay this may not be the best place to post but I'm very happy. Me and my husband met at the D.A.V.E. school. We got married and are now going to have a kid. It's great how 3D brought us together. I hope my online business (selling fan art) succeeds. We are going to need all the money we can get.

How to recreate a landscape from original geographic mapHow to recreate a landscape from original geographic map
Hallo everybody, I'm starting with Vue and I'like to re-create a landscape based on the original geographic maps. (Sometimes, these maps could be also old). I can have two kind of files like reference image from a map of the geographical area I need: 1 - .dem file 2 - .tiff file in gray-scale of the original geographic map . I'd like to know now which are the procedures to create a terrain in vue based to .dem image file or base to a greyscale tiff image. Any tutorials or guide to make it in Vue? Many thanks! I've Vue 9.5 and 10 - Mac osx Categories: Lightwave News

Detailed Vector to Quad techniqueHoping to get some good tips on how to model a quad 2D-shape out of the crown vector graphic below.
To be clear, I want to know how one of you pros would handle the polyflow for this shape. Do you start by planning the polyflow first in a graphic editor (sketching). Do you use a plugin in lightwave(10)? How do you keep the corners sharp? Hope to get some help! ( a sketch will help ) Thanx Attached Images

Normal map creation appI've been using the free version of this for a bit, but looks like they've released a proper version for fifty bucks. This looks very cool, check it out, it might be the go for some of you. I need to look into it more, but they seem to have put up some tutorials as well.
http://quixel.se/ Actually I got the price wrong, it's more like $100 for a freelance user. Categories: Lightwave News

Fan ArtI've been creating a bunch of items for my new website. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on them. The Mario stuff I made into key chains and the Dead Space Font I made into necklace charms.
__________________________________________________ ______________ __________________________________________________ _______________ That last one I don't know what to do with. In order to make it sit right on the necklace I have to add that 'support' part. It doesn't really go with the shape but I don't have any idea how to make it sit strait. Anyway, let me know what you think. Thanks!! Attached Images

Thanks! Not sure where to put this but here is the story. A few months ago I posted this image in this forum:
Well I got such praise for it the inspiration stuck with me for a while. While I don't have the render power to make a full sequence yet I found another way to get my art out there. I found a website that prints your models for you with a 3d printer. They even set up a shop for you. So I made my series called "Pixelated Reality" and put them for sale. Anyway, I'll probably regret giving you this because it's competition but here is the link to the website www.shapeways.com I want to see what everyone else prints. I'll send pictures of my work when I get it in the mail. Thank you for the inspiration!! Categories: Lightwave News

New Graphics card - will go for FirePro 5900...as long as ATI plays nice with LW now?Looking to upgrade my workstation GPU from Geforce8800GT to my first pro card.
2600k@4.7Ghz, 16GB 16GB Ram Mostly Lightwave 10.1, but use Vue, Pro-Engineer, Autocad, Rhino , Z-Brush,as well as Adobe CS5 I already have a gaming PC...so looking for a pro card. :) In the past I had big problmes with my Ati Radeon card using Lightwave, OpenGl errors, crashes you name it. Went to Nvidia (8800GT) and had no problems. Old card now, frustratingly slow on a lot of things so looking for a new card. Tempted to go for the FirePro 5900 after reading THIS: http://www.cgchannel.com/2011/10/rev...a-vs-amd-2011/ in Lightwave 10 it benches faster than a Quadro 6000! I know LW wont use all teh power of the card and thats fine, it will be great for other Cad programs I use. Lightwave is my main package though, need to know it wont spit out an Ati card. :) I can get a 5900 for cheaper than a lesser spec'd Quadro 2000, which is a no brainer...IF Lightwave can play nice with Ati cards now..no OpenGl issues, crashes, driver issues etc. So looking for any ATI Lightwavers to pitch in with positive comments :) thanks. workstation graphics upgrade - Quadro 2000 or Ati Firepro 5800?Looking to upgrade my workstation GPU from Geforce8800GT to my first pro card.
2600k@4.7Ghz, 16GB 16GB Ram Mostly Lightwave 10.1, but use Vue, Z-Brush, Rhino as well as Adobe CS5 Can get Firepro 5900 for 304GBP ($476) Quadro 2000 for 327GBP ($513) From what I can see the Ati is better spec'd (more like Quadro 4000?) but is available cheaper? Is this as much of a "no brainer" as it looks? I've had issues with lightwave using ATi cards in the past with the Radeon range due to driver/OpenGl problems. Is it a case of AVOID Ati (even the pro cards) with Lightwave? Nvidia has CUDA support which ATI doesn't...is this a problem in real terms? Is ATI's OpenCl viable? Guess Im asking... Firepro 5900 vs Quadro 2000. I'm thinking the Firepro because its a cheaper and better spec'd on paper; 2GB vs 1GB ram 64Gb/s vs 41.6Gb/s memory bandwidth Quadros memory clock is higer though, this make a difference? The 5900 spec wise seems more pitched at the Quadro 4000 than the 2000? Will avoid though if theres any horrific issues with Lightwave, like I experienced with their Radeon cards in the past. I checked the AMD Certified Drivers list and Adobe CS5 is in there, as we;ll as Pro-E and Rhino. Lightwave is my main application though..so concerned if its unworkable with an ATI card. Thanks for any help. Thanks. Categories: Lightwave News
