RealFlow.exe - Application Error (Please help)RealFlow 5
XP 2.66ghz 4GB DRR3 RAM 250GB HD Hi I'm just starting out with RealFlow 5 and i'm trying to complete this tutorial by Eric Schilling: http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/aut...in-realflow-4/ At around the 18:00 mark, Eric instructs to create an emitter which will be used to simulate milk pouring into the cereal bowl. 1. Firstly, when I select the circle in the 'particle fluid' menu, the emitter doesn't drop to the bottom of the bowl as it does int he video tutorial. 2. After I select the cereal balls and reset them to "initial state' and press simulate, I get an error message that says: "The instruction at "0x007c2d8a" referenced memory at "0x00001800". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program Click CANCEL to debug the program Please help me to understand what is going on and how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance, Plasticbricks Categories: Lightwave News
Zeitgeist: AddendumZeitgeist: Addendum premiered at the 5th Annual Artivist Film Festival in Los Angeles, California on October 2, 2008, winning their highest award. It was released free online on October 4, 2008. Director Peter Joseph stated: "The failure of our world to resolve the issues of war, poverty, and corruption, rests within a gross ignorance about what guides human behavior to begin with. It addresses the true source of the instability in our society, while offering the only fundamental, long-term solution." Categories: Lightwave News
White vs Gray: White wins, IMOI know the forum is still getting sorted, but I note:
Sometimes when I click on a link here, like: http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showt...575#post271575 The color scheme is quite a bit BRIGHTER than the main forum. Frankly, I prefer it. YMMV. Categories: Lightwave News
Trying To Get A Blogsite GoingTo get my mind off of Lightwave/Zbrush sometimes I decided to start a blog titled "Amazing Digital Art". Everyday I will update it with some of the most amazing 3D videos on the web. I come across so many, and a lot just make my jaw drop to the floor.
Check it out and let me know what you think (: http://amazingdigitalart.blogspot.com/ Thanks -Cody- Categories: Lightwave News
KURV DVDs: trying to launch IE, and I don't use IEWhen I click on a link in the page that comes up Autoplay from a KURV DVD, it tries to launch IE, and then just hangs.
I don't usually use IE for anything. Why isn't it launching my DEFAULT web browser (Firefox)? I wouldn't mind, but it doesn't even work (the video is not played). I usually just give up and load the dang videos 'by hand', directly from the folder. Irritating. Categories: Lightwave News
DAVE School, Week 10Hello! Well, this was another one week assignment fully inside of zbrush. No zsphere's were aloud to be used to create this character as we haven't learned them yet.
I modeled this using general primitives, and some of the new features in z4 including the shadow box, and clipping brushes. Thanks! -Cody- Edit: These were rendered inside of zbrush also Attached Images

LWM G13 keypad layoutJust for grins, here's the layout (jpg) I use w/LWM and my Logitech G13 Keypad. It's very convenient. There's a joystick between the two angled buttons that lets me scroll viewports around too.
I haven't got around to developing one for Layout. I've got a layered PSD file with all the outlines and button numbers separated from the functions, so if someone needs a ready made template, give me a jingle. The "Num 5" key is for my "make all the viewports the same size" preset programmed into Modeler on keypad-5. Attached Images

steam boats and crane for tv showHi everyone,
I've already posted these renders at the newtek forums, so I decided to post them here only in one thread. These boats and crane were created for the portuguese tv show 'Equador' and were modeled in Lightwave but the show was rendered in 3dsmax and Xsi. The renders here were rendered in lightwave. Textures were made by my good friend and talented artist Ricardo Garcês. I hope you guys like them. DAVE School, Week 9Hello! As far as modeling goes we are done with Lightwave and have moved onto ZBrush!
As of right now ZBrush and I have a love/hate relationship, haha. It's hard to get around the idea of just sculpting, and not modeling. It's like playing with silly-puddy, but the more I use it the more I learn to love it. The first night we were shown zbrush we were assigned this head model, and we given night projects every day based from the head model. Everything had to sculpted from a zsphere, and all be one mesh excluding the hair, and mustache. Texturing was done using Poly Paint, and the maps were tweaked in PS. Thanks! -Cody- Attached Images

Usefull tip! hotkeys in the Graph EditorYou never stop learning LW tips:
When the GE has focus, it's always bugged me that LEFT/RIGHT arrow do NOT frame advance, they KEYFRAME advance. Which sucks, because not only can you not keyframe advance, it's just different from the main interface. One more damn thing to remember. The function "Next Frame" does not appear in the GE hotkey editor. But, user DODGY just graced me with this bit of info:"And if you unassign a key in the graph editor, the Layout key assignment takes over, even if the graph editor is in focus?" Holy cow! Thanks, Dodgy! Now I can assign SHIFT+LEFT/RIGHT ARROW to the GE's hotkey list for "Next/Prev Keyframe", and I get Single-Frame Advance/Back "for free". --in fact, all I really need to do is UNassign the keys, and the GE starts using the Main Interface"Next/Prev Keyframe", which is even better, in case you assign a different hotkey for "Next Keyframe". This means the hotkeys are the same for both the Main Interface AND the GE, which is all to the good! Hurrah! Categories: Lightwave News
