| Dixie Cup 2009
Tools: Modo, Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Illustrator CS4
Information:
We do a gig every year for the local Homebrewing Club for their yearly conference. We build graphics and artwork for T-shirts, program as well as displays, etc. There is a tradition of casting a certain individual in various themes some of which are rather compromising. Early imagery was originally generated in 2D but since we are portraying the same person each year, I decided to generate Fred in 3D to make setup easier for future years.
The first model was built in Newtek’s Lightwave 3D, but we've recently started using Modo. Fred has now been rebuilt and re-mapped in Modo which proved to be easy due to its extremely powerful Modelling and UV mapping tools. This year’s theme was “Hoptobefest” which of course is a tongue and cheek play on the infamous German Octoberfest. All modelling, texturing, and animation was done in Luxology’s Modo 401 (sp2). Textures were built in Adobe PhotoShop as well as Adobe Illustrator CS4.
